Site Details

A brief history

The site is currently being used as an elementary school/Early Childhood Center and has been in operation for over 90 years. Soil impact was initially detected in 2008 during ongoing site construction when soil was randomly tested by Millington Quarry's consultant. 

 

Proposed Remediation Plan

​To address the potential for exposure to any remaining PAH compounds, engineering controls will be placed in some areas of the site to eliminate exposure risk. Soil capping and fencing is proposed for the landscaped areas around the school maintenance building, storage shed, and concession stand. Additional care will be taken with respect to inspection of current site features (i.e the asphalt parking lot) to ensure protectiveness.
